By Toutatis! A very happy 60th birthday to Asterix, the indomitable Gaul, who appeared in the debut issue of Pilote magazine on this day in 1959, introducing France, then the world, to the village that the Romans could not conquer!

Let the feasting begin - but just don't let the bard sing!
