Tintin: Puberty during the adventures

I was looking at a Tintin christmas postcard when something out of the blue struck me. Tintin's height was reaching till Haddock's nose. At first, Tintin was till Haddock's beard, so our good old friend may have experieced puberty during the adventures. The sideburn and denim jeans in Tintin And The Picaros may become an indication of Tintin being more matured and clear-headed, although it was primaly used to give out a statement that Tintin's is becoming more independent or is being let off by Herge.
