Well, we often see Tintin as an adventurer but there's one thing he did that stole and charms people's heart: He counsels them. We saw Tintin teach Gibbons about socialism and taught Chang Chong-Chen about the thoughts of White people agaisnt the Chinese in The Blue Lotus. So, Is Tintin a good counsellor? Well, I would have wished he was my school counsellor.

I admire your enthusiasm, tintinspartan, but I don't think either of those examples could be considered as counselling.
In the first instance, Tintin simply does what most people would do in that situation and remonstrates with the bully.(Gibbons) I think Gibbons is only too aware of socialism and probably does not particularly like it. Being a director of American and Chinese Steel Incorporated means capitalism is probably more his thing... Who cares about the workers!
With Chang, like you say, Tintin only offers a different viewpoint in pointing out the errors in some Europeans way of thinking.
As a counsellor? No, I don't think he'd cut it. He's a little too one-dimensional for my liking :-)
