Complicated question. Prejudiced by whom? Maybe by the readers? Most seem to think that Borduria is an evil state, although we don´t know much about the country or it´s inhabitants.

Besides, In f.ex Castafiore Emerald and Blue Lotus Tintin explicitly states that prejudice is wrong, and since the Lotus the main culprits are the villains (with some often mentioned exceptions, like Haddock´s rant at the pilgrims).

But note that Japanese are represented in Lotus in a blatantly stereotyped way, both in actions and in looks.

I think it's always good to remember that Tintin is a comic, and everyone's stereotyped in some ways. On the other hand, Herge certainly didn't give up the concept of racial stereotypes just because he learned some things about China.

I haven't the book to hand, but does Mike not pass comment that Tintin and Haddock despise the Romanies like everyone else, even though the Captain gave them leave to camp in the Hall's grounds? As far as I can recall he doesn't renounce his views, although he may well have done after Tintin clears their name by finding the emerald.

That's a good point, but I think that there may some unintentional ambiguity in pokemon's use of prejudiced: normally when you ask if someone is prejudiced, it means do they themslves show or express prejudice; but from his response to my query, it appears that he means to which characters in the series is prejudice shown, in which case it would explain the inclusion of the gypsies (although your example - which I haven't been able to verify - would fulfill the ida of a gypsy expressing prejudice...).

Exactly, Tintin Quiz. And if we want to continue the list, there could be South-Americans, Sondonesian patriots etc etc.

Though it´s worth noting that you can´t label any stereotype under "ethnical prejudice". Japan acted bullishly in the thirties, South-America had military juntas in the seventies and to this day there have been independence battles f.ex in Aceh. Where to draw the line, I leave for others to decide. Very delicate concepts these (and like jock123 pointed out, even the object of the word can be easily misunderstood).
