Rastapopoulos: What happened to his tattoo?

Hello!
In The Blue Lotus on page 57, Rastapopoulos shows Tintin that he has a tattoo of the sign of Kih-Oskh on his left forearm.
But then in Flight 714 you see Rastapopoulos's left forearm bare abain, yet the tattoo is gone.

Did Rastapopoulos manage to remove it, or did Hergé forget to draw it?

Maybe he decided that having a tattoo that directly linked him to an international drug smuggling operation was a bad idea after all and removed it somehow...!
