- The man on page 11 frame 4 says in Hindi: "What Sir! Don't you see what is in front of you?" [ASB]
- The man on page 14 frame 7 says in Hindi: "What! Again!" (literally: "What! Again same thing!") [ASB]
- On the stone on page 30 frame 6, the Chinese characters read: 張仲仁 Chang Chung-Jen (Zhang Zhongren). Chang is a Chinese family name, and it is the most common family name in the world. Zhang/Chang means open, spread or stretch; Chung/Zhong means middle, centre; and Ren/Jen means benevolence.
Note: Hergé's friend's name is 張充仁 (T)chang Chong-chen (Zhang Chongren when romanized in Hanyu Pinyin, or Chang Ch'ung-Jen in Wade-Giles). [IM]
