- Topshe (played by Siddartha Chatterjee) reads Land of Black Gold in the 1974 Bengali film Sonar Kella (The Golden Fortress). The film was directed by Satyajit Ray, and based on a book also written by Ray.

The Klow Restaurant (from King Ottokar's Sceptre) appears in this 1998 film by Bruno Podalydès, complete with waiter, menu and washrooms. Albert, the lead character, also has a miniature replica of Tintin's rocket on his answering machine.

On the 2005 BBC DVD release of the three "Wallace and Gromit" short films, Nick Park discusses his inspiration for "A Grand Day Out" in the director's commentary: "I was brought up on Tintin - you know, 'Hergé's Adventures of Tintin!' - and the way they went to the Moon in that rocket, and the way Hergé was so into the technical structure of things; and everything had to have a beautiful shape, you know, quite anti-modern technology in some ways."

The episode, "Child Cosmonauts", aired in Australia, on Monday, 19 May 2003, is about a group of children taking part in a simulated space shuttle flight at the Euro Space Centre in Belgium.
